Becoming a parent is one of life’s most meaningful transitions, but it can also bring unexpected emotional challenges. Understanding Maternal Mental Health

Emotional Changes During Pregnancy and Postpartum

Pregnancy and the months following birth can bring intense physical, emotional, and hormonal changes. While many parents expect joy, it’s also normal to experience:

  • Persistent sadness or hopelessness
  • Anxiety or racing thoughts
  • Difficulty bonding with your baby
  • Feeling overwhelmed or disconnected
  • Changes in sleep or appetite

These symptoms may indicate perinatal or postpartum depression or anxiety, both of which are highly treatable with professional support.

You are not alone in your struggles and help is available.
