Psychosocial Rehabilitation

Persistent mental illness or addiction can lead to the inability to successfully participate in society. This challenge can lead to recurring hospitalization, isolation and a worsening of symptoms. At Bear River Mental Health, we offer psychosocial rehabilitation services that are designed to help our clients reintegrate into positive relationships with family, community and society as a whole.

We have a short-term residential facility located in Logan, Utah, where our clients can participate in these services and work toward independent living and full recovery. We also offer day programs that center around personal recovery goals.

What Is Psychosocial Rehabilitation?

Those who live with persistent mental illness or addiction often find it difficult to find a comfortable place in society. Psychosocial rehabilitation focuses on our clients’ road toward full recovery through personal goals, skill building and access to resources. Our program gives our clients the help they need to find gainful employment, work toward educational goals, learn basic living skills and develop social skills to positively interact with others.

Psychosocial rehabilitation is a step-by-step process that uses evidence-based best practices to help our clients rediscover their capabilities and return to the life roles they once held. Our practitioners guide our clients through the development of skills that are essential to life within society, including employment, education, personal care and family relationships.

Principles of Psychosocial Rehabilitation

Bear River Mental Health’s care providers have specific goals for those who participate in our psychosocial rehabilitation programs and they all include ensuring that our clients feel hopeful, empowered, skilled and supported. Our therapists follow the evidence-based principles listed below to guide their approaches to treatment:

  • Everyone has a right to self-determination
  • Everyone has potential that can be developed
  • Focus on an individual’s strengths rather than symptoms
  • Everyone has different needs
  • Focus on a social rather than medical model of care
  • Services take place in a normalized environment
  • Focus on the present rather than the past

These principles allow our therapists to take a whole-person approach that combines services and treatments to ensure clients find success in life outside of rehabilitation.

Build Resilience Through Psychosocial Rehabilitation

Our person-focused program is designed to help individuals find hope and personal strength, no matter their current challenges. The professionals at Bear River Mental Health want to help our clients meet goals and find purpose in everyday life. Each of our clients plays a role in their own success, and we push for individualized support and skills to help them become their best selves. Contact us to find out more.
